Description

About Us:

New Life Christian School has been shaping students in the Inland Northwest for nearly 40 years through Christ-centered, classical education. With a close-knit student body of approximately 125 students (K-12), we are dedicated to cultivating wise, thoughtful, and articulate leaders firmly rooted in biblical truth. Our faculty members are more than teachers—they are mentors, shepherding students toward academic excellence and a Christ-centered worldview in every subject they teach.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Upper School Math & Science Teacher who desires to teach students about the order, beauty, and logic of God’s creation. Using a classical approach and biblical integration, you will inspire students to think deeply, apply knowledge with wisdom, and develop a love for learning. As part of a supportive and mission-driven faculty, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of Christian leaders through rigorous academics and spiritual discipleship.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster a Christ-centered learning environment: Teach Upper School Math and Science, focusing on academic rigor, biblical principles, and classical methods while nurturing students’ hearts and minds.
  • Build relationships with students: Be a compassionate, approachable presence in the lives of your students, helping them grow spiritually, academically, and personally.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers: Actively participate in faculty meetings, prayer times, and school events, contributing to the school’s mission of nurturing students who love the Lord and are equipped to serve Him.
  • Create a well-managed classroom: Maintain a disciplined and respectful classroom environment, implementing effective classroom management strategies while being flexible and responsive to students’ needs.
  • Engage with parents: Hold bi-annual parent conferences, communicate regularly with families about student progress, and be available for additional meetings, as needed.
  • Supervise extracurricular activities: Assist with supervising school events, extracurricular activities, and outings as assigned.
  • Contribute to the school community: Assist with duties such as playground or gymnasium supervision, classroom cleaning and upkeep, and other duties as assigned by the administration.
  • Administrative responsibilities: Complete required paperwork, including progress reports, report cards, grade records, and achievement tests. Assist in maintaining classroom supplies and equipment inventories.

Qualifications:

  • Educational and professional background: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field. Experience in a classical Christian education environment is preferred but not required. If such experience is not present, candidates must be eager and willing to learn and adopt the classical Christian education model.
  • Spiritual maturity: A vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated through personal character and a desire to disciple students in their faith.
  • Skills and experience:
    • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to teach students with various learning styles.
    • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
    • Flexibility and a collaborative spirit, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
    • A self-starter with a passion for continued professional development.
  • Desire to serve: A heart for working with students and their families and a commitment to contributing to the mission of New Life Christian School.

Why New Life Christian School?

  • Shape young hearts and minds in a school committed to Christ-centered, classical education.
  • Experience a close-knit, supportive community where faculty, students, and families partner together in learning and discipleship.
  • Teach with purpose and freedom in an environment where biblical truth and academic excellence go hand in hand.
  • Thrive professionally and spiritually with opportunities for mentorship, growth, and collaboration.
