Position description:
Leading under the authority of the LCS Board, the Headmaster will exemplify clarity of conviction, love of wisdom, a passion for the gospel, skill in communication, and care for teachers, students, and parents. He will articulate and project a vision of Christian wisdom: the humble pursuit of truth through an attentive attunement to the order of creation and the illumination of the Scriptures. He will support faculty in creating an atmosphere that inspires devotion, wonder, and love of learning by modeling and encouraging lifelong study, faith-filled orthodoxy, the cardinal virtues and the fruits of the Spirit within a community characterized by charity and hospitality. He will shepherd students by helping them to live in light of our school motto, ordering their loves toward the true, the good, and the beautiful in obedience to Christ, inspiring them with wonder at the glories of God’s Word and God’s world, and encouraging them to cultivate the gifts that God has given them in service of one another. In our tech-saturated age, he will articulate and model a vision for embodied education and experience, maintaining strict boundaries on the use of tech within the school and fostering an atmosphere that prizes hands-on, conversational learning and face-to-face interactions. He will exhibit administrative competence and efficiency in overseeing school finances, meeting budgets, and maintaining timely and accurate communication with stakeholders.

- Communicating regularly with families regarding school policies and plans.
- Upholding disciplinary standards in cases of behavioral or academic misconduct, and communicating as needed with parents as issues arise.
- Reporting to and liaising with the LCS board as needed; available to attend monthly board meetings.
- Executing budget planning and overseeing operational finances, under the authority of the Board Treasurer.
- Interacting with the building landlord and ensuring any issues regarding the facility are addressed.
- Complying with Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct in the Student Handbook; upholding and enforcing rules, administrative directives and regulations, school policies, and local, state, and federal regulations.
