Description

This is a full-time salaried, exempt position with a 12-month work schedule and base standard hours of 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. This position also requires attendance at regular staff meetings, professional development sessions, and after-hours events. Assignments and additional duties will be determined based on the needs of the institution. Admissions Assistant will report to the Director of Admissions and Community Engagement.

Position Overview

The Admissions Assistant plays a key role in supporting the mission of Columbus Classical Academy by ensuring the admissions process is welcoming, organized, and mission-centered. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, hospitable, and able to represent the values and vision of the school to prospective families with grace and professionalism.

  • Primary Responsibilities:

    - Serve as the initial point of contact for inquiries from prospective families, providing clear, accurate, and mission-aligned information about the school

    - Support the Director of Admissions in the coordination of all aspects of the admissions process, including application tracking, scheduling, and event planning

    - Manage and maintain the admissions database with accuracy and discretion

    - Assist in organizing and executing admissions events such as tours, open houses, student visit days, and parent information sessions

    - Assist in organizing and executing community outreach events such as Speaker Series, and Moms/Dads Night Out.

    - Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling student records and sensitive family information

    - Prepare and assemble admissions materials, correspondence, and welcome packets

    - Provide timely follow-up communication with prospective families throughout the application process

    - Coordinate with faculty and staff to ensure a seamless experience for student visits and interviews

    - Contribute to a culture of hospitality, excellence, and mission fidelity in all aspects of the admissions office

Qualifications

The Admissions Assistant is a knowledgeable, responsible individual who is an effective communicator, problem-solver, and self-directed and lifelong learner. This individual interacts joyfully and meaningfully with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Further qualifications for candidates include:

    - Bachelor’s degree preferred; background in education, communications, or administration is desirable

    - Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    - Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail

    - Capacity to manage and execute effectively upon numerous initiatives at once

    - Energetic and enthusiastic, with the ability and desire for community engagement

    - Responsive and timely with communications and completion of tasks

    - Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with student information systems or CRM software (e.g., FACTS, Rocketfuel)

    - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic office environment

    - A professional and gracious demeanor with a commitment to the values and vision of classical education

  • Additionally, strong candidates will also possess:

    - Experience in classical school environments

    - Familiarity with classical education or the liberal arts tradition

Compensation, Benefits, & Hiring

Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits offered for full-time employees include health benefits, 401(k), paid vacation, personal days, and paid holidays. Children will receive enrollment priority if a parent is a full-time employee at the time of enrollment. All employees will be required to pass background checks.
