Going The Distance
Over the last few months, there has been a renewed discussion about race in the United States. Many classical Christian educators are thinking through a range of issues related to this topic within their school communities. In an age of extremes where some schools around us are “going woke” and others simply ignore the discussions, school leaders are seeking to find support and resources to help them answer the questions in a wise, biblical, and mission-focused way. Anchoring and exploring the philosophical, historical, and cultural questions of race through a biblical perspective is essential for retaining the core of our Christian identity and purpose. Therefore, we will consider the black classical tradition from such critical viewpoints, including practical sessions for academic leadership.
Secondly, we will focus on the other dominating issue for our schools this year, COVID-19. Now that the 2020 school year is underway, what have we learned so far about managing and leading through COVID-19? What did we anticipate and what practical classroom management strategies have we learned? We will explore these issues on the live main stage and in engaging breakout sessions, workshops, and “patio discussions.”
Thirdly, learn insights from a range of additional speakers who will address pertinent topics for classical Christian leaders.
