Description
Covenant's 6th-Grade U.S. History course covers the Post-Reconstruction era through September 11, 2001. This course engages students by developing historical thinking skills, reading academic texts and primary sources, introducing historical writing skills, and discerning truth. Sixth Grade History completes the U.S. historical narrative begun in Grammar School while building upon the skills students need for future history courses.
Although all classes at Covenant are taught through a Biblical worldview, twenty percent of this 6th-Grade class is dedicated to setting the foundation for independent Bible study through Biblical literacy and memorization.
The ideal candidate for this position will be at home in both disciplines, able to lecture and lead dialectical investigations, and will be an experienced academic writing teacher. Moreover, all Covenant teachers serve as pastors (shepherds) of our students, advising them in their walk with Jesus Christ.
