Choral Director Grades 6-12
The Covenant School is seeking a dynamic, winsome and experienced “Pied Piper” to direct its Rhetoric School (9th-12th grades) and Logic School (7th and 8th grades) choirs and teach 6th grade general music. The successful candidate will be a mature Christian believer with a particular passion for middle school and high school aged students, as well as a deep love for choral music. The choral program at Covenant has experienced tremendous growth over the last several years, participating regularly in solo/ensemble and choral contests throughout the state and performing numerous concerts each year. This new leader will have the ability to continue the relationship with TPSMEA and reinforce the existing foundation and the vision to continue expanding the program.
A masters degree (or equivalent experience) is required, as is familiarity with various music education methods, including Kodaly and Orff techniques. Strong keyboard skills are preferred and some background with musical theater is desirable, as this position has shared responsibility for the annual musical production with the drama department.
