Position Summary:

The Dean of Operations will support the Headmaster by coordinating operational and academic needs of the campus related to meeting state and local requirements including support services, testing, attendance, facilities, and academic requirements. The Dean of Operations will assist the Headmaster with discipline of students and supervision and mentoring of faculty as well as the development of a positive school culture.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited College or University, Master's degree (preferred)
  • Possess a Current Texas Teaching Certification with four years teaching experience, (preferred)
  • Successful completion of the Administrator Licensure Completion Plan (ALCP) for Building Level Administrator, (preferred)
  • 5+ years of teaching experience
  • 5+ years of experience in state testing.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • A passion for children and for classical education
  • Ability and patience to work interactively with children
  • Advance knowledge of federal and state education laws
  • Computer literate
  • Strong organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to learn teaching curriculum software programs and instruct others on the utilization
  • Ability to understand the individual needs of each student and train others on the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Clear understanding of goal setting for students and the individualized approach
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, their parents, teachers, the community, peers, administrative staff, superintendent, and corporate staff
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of students, their parents, teachers, the community, peers, administrative staff, superintendent, and corporate staff
  • Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and student data such as diagnostic test results, state assessments scoring, transcripts, and grade point average

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Directly supervise employees in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Interview, hire, and train employees
  • Plan, assign and direct work
  • Appraise the performance of staff, reward and discipline employees according to ResponsiveEd’s policies and procedures, and address and resolve complaints and problems
  • Promote and encourage the success of every student by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth
  • Promote and encourage the success of every student by ensuring management of the organization, operation, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment
  • Promote and encourage the success of every student by collaborating with faculty and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources
  • Promote and encourage the success of every student by acting with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner
  • Promote and encourage the success of every student by understanding, responding to, and influencing the political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context
  • Develop and evaluate the educational program to ensure conformance to state and school board standards
  • Develop and coordinate educational programs through meetings with staff, review of teachers' activities, and issuance of directives
