As a University-Model® school, our Dialectic & Rhetoric students (6th-12th grade) meet on campus on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The mission of our school is to partner with parents in the education and spiritual formation of their children by providing a classical education taught from a Biblical worldview.  

Dialectic/Rhetoric Science at The Covenant School:

In the Dialectic and Rhetoric levels of our school (6th-12th grade), we teach Anatomy and Physiology, General Science, Physical Science, Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, and Physics. 

General Job Description:

Science teachers at The Covenant School seek to develop students who know God better through His work in creation, who think like scientists, and who are able to effectively engage in the scientific process. Science systematically studies the physical and natural world through observation and experiment. Teachers will use didactic instruction, discussion, and experiments to lead students into scientific inquiry.

Required qualifications:

• College degree
• Availability on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays

Preferred qualifications:

• Previous teaching experience at the middle school or high school level
• Science education background

Major duties and responsibilities:

• Teach multiple science classes that each meet 3 days per week (6th-12th grades)
• Plan lessons 
• Grade papers and enter grades in online system
• Communicate with parents as needed
• Attend training days prior to the start of the school year
• Attend monthly staff meetings and periodic staff development
