The mission of our school is to partner with parents in the education and spiritual formation of their children by providing a classical education taught from a Biblical worldview.  

General Job Description:

At The Covenant School, we believe that an important foundation for learning is set at the Grammar school stage. During these formative years, students learn their basic math facts and develop number sense, learn the fundamental building blocks of language through phonics, and build up their knowledge base of the world around them. Teachers will instruct students in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, math, history, and science. Grammar teachers will work with a partner teacher to plan lessons and develop learning activities. Classroom teachers will also partner with the home day teachers (parents) and embody the character of Jesus as they seek to form students into His image.

The Grammar Classroom Teacher position is part-time, including Tuesday and Thursday on campus and additional availability for planning and parent communication throughout the week. 

Required qualifications:

  • College degree
  • Availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays (days on campus)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous teaching experience at the Grammar school level

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Teach one class of Grammar students (typically 16 students) 
  • Plan and deliver instructional lessons according to the school’s curriculum plan
  • Assess student work and record grades and comments in our online grade book (FACTS)
  • Communicate with parents as needed, including through the weekly assignment sheet
  • Attend training days, prior to the start of the school year
  • Attend monthly staff meetings and periodic staff development
