Rochester Classical Academy (RCA) is seeking to expand its faculty for fall 2021 with the addition of a Grammar School teacher. This teacher will lead one of the following, depending on availability and interest of the candidate: 1st or a combined 2nd and 3rd grade class.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree, a familiarity with the classical, Christian style of education, and a desire to grow continually in this style. Most importantly, candidates will love the Lord and love children. All employees must be able to sign our statement of faith and provide information about church membership and involvement with application materials.

RCA opened in fall 2019 with three grades and is expanding by one grade each year. This open position constitutes an expansion of our teaching faculty in order to accommodate adding 3rd grade in fall 2021.

General Functions

  • Provides an orderly teaching environment by consistently enforcing classroom rules 
  • Guides the class to Christ and biblical truth
  • Thorough knowledge of and interest in the subjects he/she is assigned to teach
  • Maintains regular and accurate attendance and grade records 
  • Uses and applies the classical method for the particular subject and grade level being taught
  • Keeps students, parents, and the administration adequately informed of educational progress 
  • Assesses the learning and abilities of the students on a regular basis
  • Knows the needs, interests, and learning characteristics of each student
  • Build relationships and help educate current and prospective parents 

Skills and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • Experienced and comfortable with computers and other technology
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills 
  • High comfort level in a group setting
