About Donum Dei Classical Academy
Donum Dei Classical Academy, a Gift of God, opened in August 2019 in San Francisco, California. Our mission is to impart a rich classical Christian curriculum full of Scriptural truth and life-giving experiences. We exist to nourish students’ hearts, souls, minds, and bodies for the purpose of growing in them knowledge, wisdom, good character, and Christ-like virtue worthy of bringing glory to our great God. How this role fits into Donum Dei as an organization:
Donum Dei seeks a professional teacher to fill this role who has the ability to teach an integrated, classical curriculum to our students. While the main component of this role involves teaching, we desire this person to actively participate in staff meetings and teacher workdays/professional development opportunities.
Role Responsibilities:
- Teach all classes in the classical approach
- Lesson planning, grading, class report cards, student grade analysis, classroom management
- Train and support any classroom Teacher Assistant or Teacher Apprentice throughout the academic year
- Communicate with parents about students’ progress and development on a regular basis, including parent-teacher conferences
- Support the growth, development, and health of the school in the areas of recruitment, events, and community-building activities
- Be available for meetings after school hours when needed
- Support check-in, prayer, and check-out on select days
- Participate in professional development and teacher training opportunities to build up the Grammar School team
The ideal candidate will:
- Be in good standing with a Christian church
- Exemplify a love for learning and a passion to cultivate this love in students
- Embrace and embody strong virtue formation
- Engage with students, families, and our local community
- Be eager to work on a multi grade-level team to plan instruction and assessments and other student experiences such as plays, field trips, and simulations
- Demonstrate an understanding of and skill in implementing classical curriculum and pedagogy, and seek to grow in his/her understanding of this tradition in order to re-imagine and embody the richest practices of Christian, liberal arts education
- Display an in-depth understanding of child development
- Assess and document student learning and evaluation processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Teaching experience or Master’s degree in subject area
- Pursue the ACSI or ACCS Teacher Certification, Classical Educator Equivalent, CA Teacher Credential, or Master’s in Classical Education within two years of initial employment
- Agree with Donum Dei’s Statement of Faith
- Serve as a minister of the Gospel

- This is a full time, exempt teaching role
- Compensation is annual salaried pay and tuition credit if applicable
