The Head of Rhetoric School leads the academic, spiritual, and relational culture of CCA’s upper school division, serving approximately 165 students and their families. He or she directs relationships within the Rhetoric School toward a positive, edifying experience for faculty, students, and parents.
The Head of Rhetoric School maintains CCA’s classical academic priorities within the context of a fully developed, competitive college preparatory curriculum. The Head establishes and supervises appropriate grading policies, with the overall expectation that students are rewarded in their studies by hard work and consistent engagement.
The Head of Rhetoric School supervises faculty development and performance with the assistance of department chairs. He or she also oversees course scheduling and college admission and readiness programming.
The Head of Rhetoric is integral to student and family retention and works closely with the enrollment management team to support enrollment goals. He or she also supports admission efforts by attending preview events, conducting tours of the Rhetoric School, interviewing students and families, and other activities as necessary.
Coordinating closely with the Director of Fine Arts and Athletic Director, the Head of Rhetoric School manages student workloads, calendars, and events. He or she is central to helping students and families engage in the full experience of co-curricular opportunities while providing a healthy, balanced structure of activity for our teenagers.
The Head of Rhetoric School supervises the discipleship and disciplinary interactions with students and their families. He or she also coordinates traditional annual activities like Fall Homecoming, Winter Alumni Week, the Spring Formal, and Commencement.
The Head of Rhetoric School reports to the Headmaster and participates in the senior administrative team with the other division heads, program directors, and operations and business staff.
Covenant Christian Academy is an independent, classical, college preparatory school, located between Dallas and Fort Worth. Founded in 1980, and serving students in PreK-3 through grade 12, CCA occupies a fully developed 17-acre campus and employs approximately 100 full and part-time staff.
