Christ Covenant School (CCS), an independent, Christian, classical school serving grades JK-12,
has been fully committed to the mission of preparing students for more than 18 years. Located
in Winterville, NC, a suburb of Greenville, NC, CCS has enjoyed vitality and planned, continual
growth to a school population of approximately 400 students and 60 faculty and staff members.
Recognized in the region for a strong commitment to the Christian faith and excellence in
classical education, CCS graduated its first senior class in 2017. These academically-minded
graduates continued on to higher education and have successfully finished their first year at
universities in different locations throughout the world. This year, we will issue diplomas to
another deserving class of students, who will seek to make an impact in the world for Christ. In
comparison with both public and private schools in the region, our students' performance
demonstrates the excellence of the education provided at Christ Covenant School. Moreover,
the character of the faculty, staff, and students, in the pursuit of wisdom and virtue, further
testify to the focus that CCS places on Christ and education in the classical form.
We are currently seeking a person to fill the position of:
HEAD OF SCHOOL
As an employee of the CCS School Board, the Head of School will be responsible for the
administration of the daily school activities. While many of the Head of School’s responsibilities
are accomplished through collaboration with teams of faculty, staff, and occasionally parents,
the primary duties of the Head of School are as follows:
• Managing faculty and staff
• Overseeing academics
• Implementing the strategic plan
• Administering school discipline
• Partnering with CFO with budgeting and school
• Marketing, fundraising, and development
• Overseeing Admissions and Retention
CCS has a well-articulated mission, vision, and strategic plan. The
Head of School will be the primary spokesperson for this vision
and will ensure adherence to these principles by establishing,
enforcing, and reviewing quality control methodologies.
The Head of School should be involved with every decision
regarding education, personnel, students, parents, and others
within the community, as those decisions relate to CCS. The Head
of School will model grace and truth and seek to build an
environment promoting academic excellence within the
framework of Christian classical education. This environment of
academic excellence should be achieved by empowering teachers to shepherd children’s hearts
and minds in Christ, as they provide them instruction in knowledge.
Above all, the Head of School must exemplify the Christian faith by being fully committed to
Christ and seeking to glorify him in his/her personal and professional life. The Head of School
should have a demonstrated passion for Christian classical education, should be able to
articulate the dimensions of such to various audiences, and should be proficient at leading the
faculty, staff and parents to bring into practice the tenets of classical Christian education in the
daily activities of the school.
The Head of School must be a proven administrator, preferably with a background in education,
leadership, and/or business. Since CCS is continually growing in both school population, the
Head of School should be able to capitalize on previous growth, employ methodologies to
garner additional future growth, and simultaneously monitor that the expansion will be both
controlled and adequately resourced.
The Head of School should be a team builder who will continually involve faculty, staff, and
parents as partners, and will conscientiously unite these groups into a tight community seeking
to fulfill the mission of CCS. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
A Master’s Degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field and two to five years
of administrative experience in a classical Christian school is preferred. Significant experience as
a teacher/administrator in a high school environment is preferred, particularly when this
experience is tied to leading a school from JK-12 and the accompanying accreditation process.
References will be requested. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

(www.pittcountync.gov), North Carolina, approximately 85 miles east of Raleigh and about the
same distance from the magnificent Outer Banks of North Carolina. Greenville, a rapidly
growing community of 91,000, (projected to grow to nearly 110,000 in the next few years),
within a county population of 175,000, has become the gateway community for numerous
businesses and resources for the entire 29-county eastern coastal plain of North Carolina.

the flagship teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Greenville is now well established as a center for commerce, health care, education, technology
and manufacturing “East of 95” (a common denotation for the region of North Carolina east of
Interstate 95). Immediately to the outskirts of Greenville, Pitt County and surrounding counties
are primarily agrarian.
