Description
In the Fall of 2018, Classical School of Dallas (Classical) pioneered with 32 families to open its doors to 60 eager students. This year, 193 students fill our classrooms and 107 families labor together in common purpose. With extraordinary mentorship from Trinity Classical School in Houston, a growing school has taken root in East Dallas. We now stand ready to welcome a Head of School.
HEAD OF SCHOOL PROFILE
Classical School of Dallas seeks an executive with adaptive abilities to promote responsive and creative thinking in a partnership between school and home. Last year, the board of directors engaged in a detailed study identifying the specific kind of leadership expertise our unique schooling model requires.
While knowledge of independent school best practice is important, it is not pre-eminent. Equally vital is a commitment to cultivating and promoting a model of academic and cultural discipleship centering on the home. That dedication, combined with executive experience and relational engagement, will enhance the unique growth our school is experiencing.
Executive duties include implementing and annually revising the school’s five-year strategic financial plan. As the primary professional representative of Classical School of Dallas, the Head of School must ably and enthusiastically communicate Classical’s vision to our families and neighboring community.
With an eye toward deepening academic excellence and commitment, the next Head of School will lead scholastic pursuits: faculty and staff development and supervision, co-teacher training, and continued academic growth. In our fourth year, Classical has significantly improved the ability to facilitate cooperation between school and home. Curriculum adjustments have maximized professional instruction and improved homeschool effectiveness. Classical currently offers PreK to 8th grade; our Interim Head of School, Chuck Evans, the board and faculty are developing a program for Rhetoric School with 9th to 12th grades. Opening in 2023-2024 with 9th grade, the Head of School will begin to implement the full-bodied plan.
As both a spiritual and academic role model, this individual must bring a prayerful and spirit-filled perspective in all spheres of leadership. We seek a mature disciple of Christ who faithfully practices the disciplines of faith and cultivates Gospel-oriented community.
