Position Summary:

EHA is searching for an Instructional Assistant to faithfully support the LeadTeacher in one or more of our early education or lower school classrooms. The Lead Teacher and the Instructional Assistant will collaborate to create an atmosphere in which our children are safe, loved, and challenged to grow in both the love of learning and the formation of wholesome habits. The Instructional Assistant may also help with supervision of before-school activities.

Position Reporting Responsibility:

This position reports directly to the Dean of Academics.

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Instructional Assistant Responsibilities
● Reinforce classroom atmosphere expectation
● Assist with Morning Discipleship
● Help prepare for student learning activities
● Engage in individual, small group, and whole class instruction at the teacher's direction
● Provide oversight before and during breakfast and assistance at lunch and snack times
● Assist with administrative and record-keeping tasks
● Serve as a substitute teacher as needed
● Assist the Academic Dean as requested

Community Member Responsibilities
● Attend mandatory staff meetings, professional development, and teacher workdays
● Attend mandatory events outside of school hours
● Attend extra-curricular activities such as athletic events when available

EHA Stewardship Responsibilities
● Physical classroom space
● Classroom and playground equipment
● Curricular materials
