At Veritas, we believe that a good education plays the long game, and we seek to prepare students not only for college but for life. We offer a robust JK-12 classical education in a joyous and Christ-centered environment using a curriculum that is rooted in our belief that all areas of study provide opportunities to discern and emulate the True, the Good, and the Beautiful. Veritas School is fully accredited and has consistently won local Top Workplace awards for creating a culture where employees feel engaged, appreciated and fulfilled.

Position Summary

The goal of Latin instruction at Veritas is to provide the opportunity for the engagement and enjoyment of the Latin language from multiple historical periods. In class the teacher instructs actīvō modō based on principles drawn from the rich precedent of teaching and learning Latin in the Middle Ages and Renaissance, as well as those supplied by research from the field of second language acquisition. At its core this approach centers on reading and communicating with students in comprehensible ways, and thus provides students with the opportunity to learn Latin as a living language. As such students learn to read Latin as Latin, a skill which they continue to cultivate as they read works from the classical and medieval periods in subsequent levels of the curriculum.
