Description
The Lower School Admissions Director will oversee The Covenant School’s admissions to identify and enroll new students Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5 in Covenant’s college preparatory Christian Liberal Arts and Sciences program. The Director works on the Birdwood Campus and reports to the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Present the school’s mission to prospective families through personal interviews and tours
- Handles the candidates and processes records from the initial inquiry through enrollment
- Administer placement testing to evaluate applicants for admission to the Lower School
- Partner with Marketing and Communications team to develop admissions collateral materials, implement website content and execute promotional communication with prospective families
- Plan and host admission events throughout the year: In-person admissions receptions, monthly Zoom events, prospective grade level events, etc.
- Develop and maintain relationships with partner feeder schools
- Attend faculty meetings (as needed) to stay abreast of curricular changes and professional development opportunities of the Birdwood faculty
- Oversee re-enrollment process to include parent communication and data tracking
- Partner and strategize with program administrators to optimize student retention
- Capture and monitor attrition/retention statistics
- Communicate financial aid application process and deadlines to current and new parents
- Complete on-boarding process with program administrators for newly enrolled students
- Plan grade level summer events to welcome incoming students and families
- Coordinate messaging with program administrator for summer academic opportunities
Requirements
- Commitment to the Christian faith and dedicated member of a Christian church community
- Four year Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS)
- Ability to think and plan strategically and creatively
- Ability to lead and motivate colleagues and staff
- Ability to represent the school and speak effectively with prospective parents and students
- Clear and persuasive written communication skills
- Ability to listen well
- Positive, energetic attitude and ability to engage with a diverse group of constituents
- Proficient with computers and software-based tools
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- High degree of organization, and a strong work ethic
Desired Qualifications
- Three to five years of demonstrated success in a leadership role
- Direct experience working in a school: admissions, classroom teacher, administration, etc.
- Or, sales and marketing experience in alternate industry
- Experience using Blackbaud’s OnCampus admissions module
