About Donum Dei Classical Academy

Donum Dei Classical Academy, a Gift of God, opened in August 2019 in San Francisco, California. Our mission is to impart a rich classical Christian curriculum full of Scriptural truth and life-giving experiences. We exist to nourish students’ hearts, souls, minds, and bodies for the purpose of growing in them knowledge, wisdom, good character, and Christ-like virtue worthy of bringing glory to our great God. The leadership team has set the foundation for a rich intellectual and spiritual culture, with excellent teachers across disciplines who are dedicated to shaping the hearts and minds of the young. How this role fits into Donum Dei as an organization: 

Donum Dei is looking for an assistant teacher in the preschool that we are in the process of launching. This person would work with our new Preschool Director to define classroom rhythms and serve the students under our care.

Preschool Teacher:

  • Exemplifies a love for learning and a passion to cultivate that love in your students
  • Instills virtue and character as you build relationships with students and families
  • Takes pride in edifying the body by fully exercising your role of teacher and your gift of teaching
  • Teaches integrated subjects passionately and excellently
  • Brings to life God’s words through practical applications
  • Creates a safe and nurturing learning environment for children
  • Assists with regular communication with parents

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for young children
  • Carry out lesson plans
  • Helping children use the bathroom
  • Handling basic hygiene needs such as handwashing
  • Preparing children for and supervising them during naptime
  • Preparing and serving healthy snacks
  • Observing children for developmental problems and other concerns—and passing this information on to the preschool director
  • Execute preferred classroom management and discipline strategies
  • Participate and help with parent-teacher conferences as needed

Qualifications:

  • All of the requirements within one of the following options must be met:
    • Option 1
  • 12 core semester units in early childhood education/development
  • 6 months experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child program
    • Option 2
  • 6 completed units of early childhood education
  • Enrolled in at least 2 semester units at a college until fully qualified
  • Agree with Donum Dei’s Statement of Faith
  • Serve as a minister of the Gospel

Employment Type

  • This is a full time, exempt teaching role
  • Compensation is annual salaried pay and tuition credit to the preschool and/or TK-8 school if applicable
