As a University-Model® school, our Dialectic & Rhetoric students (6th-12th grade) meet on campus on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The mission of our school is to partner with parents in the education and spiritual formation of their children by providing a classical education taught from a Biblical worldview.  

General Job Description:

Spanish teachers at The Covenant School must be passionate about language learning and seeing students develop proficiency in the Spanish language. We employ a methodology for language instruction that majors on communication skills and minors on grammar. Our goal is to graduate students from our program who have a love for people of all cultures and have the language skills necessary to engage with the world around them.

Required qualifications:

• Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish
• College degree
• Availability on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays

Preferred qualifications:

• Previous teaching experience at the middle school or high school level
• Familiarity with a teaching methodology that focuses on comprehensible input

Major duties and responsibilities:

• Teach 2-3 Spanish classes that each meet 3 days per week (9th-11th grades)
• Conduct class in the target language (Spanish)
• Plan lessons 
• Grade papers and enter grades in online system
• Communicate with parents as needed
• Attend training days prior to the start of the school year
• Attend monthly staff meetings and periodic staff development
