Summary: The Wellness Counselor will serve as an advocate and supporter of social, emotional and mental health in a Christian school setting for students, parents and the school community. In this role, the primary focus will be on supporting and reinforcing student psychological and developmental health in an academic setting. The Wellness Counselor may provide mental health triage services, short-term counseling, crisis management, referrals to mental health specialists and other mental health resources, and will act as a liaison between the students, parents, faculty, and outside agencies or professionals to plan and implement strategies for success for each individual student.
Work Schedule: This is an exempt part-time, 20-hours per week position. The workday schedule may vary but will typically be 4.0 hours per day five days a week for ten months. There may be times when the employee is expected to work beyond the workday to perform duties outlined in the job description and as assigned.
