About SCL

Mission

The Society for Classical Learning exists to foster human flourishing by making classical Christian education thrive.

Background

SCL is a leader in the classical, Christian school movement, committed to training classical Christian school leaders and providing the mentorship, community, and relationships needed for schools to thrive. SCL is committed to historic Christianity as expressed in the Nicene Creed and to exploring the relationship of Christ to the broader culture.

Though SCL has existed since the mid-1990s, current growth and opportunity within the CCE landscape has brought about rapid growth and development for SCL, with many new initiatives ahead. As a non-profit, digital organization, SCL staff all work remotely, wear many hats, and require extraordinary personal initiative and intrinsic motivation to do our jobs well. We are a small, close-knit team committed to serving our members and classical Christian education around the world.
