ABSTRACT:

Revenue and cost are the simple components of a school's financial planning and management policies. But they are not that simple, are they? This workshop walks through he process of determining costs, matching price, and experiencing the benefit of prudent planning. This seminar provides a discussion of common problems like addressing rising costs, designing realistic budgets, dealing with negative cash flow, and collecting tuition.

Chuck Evans is a co-founder of SCL and the author with Robert Littlejohn of Wisdom and Eloquence: A Christian Paradigm for Classical Learning (Crossway 2006). From 2002-2006 Chuck served as the head of Regents School of Austin, Texas during which time Regents was established as the largest ACCS accredited institution in the country. Since 2006, Chuck has consulted with classical and other independent schools across North America, providing counsel in strategic planning, financial sustainability, enrollment growth and management, program expansion, and leadership development. From 2010 to 2015 he served as a founding board member of the Council for Educational Standards and Accountability (CESA). Alongside his consulting, Chuck has worked as a lobbyist and a mediator, and he serves as an elder at Bethany Lutheran Church in Austin. He is the Senior Partner of BetterSchools, LLC, a comprehensive consulting firm founded in 2011.
