What is the ultimate goal of assessment, especially in secondary school? Is it merely to provide students with scholarship opportunities? To please the parents? To check a box? This workshop will discuss different ways that school leaders can utilize assessments to support their teachers and provide them with tools to be more effective.
Soren Schwab is a passionate educator with a decade of experience in classical education. Born and raised in Germany, Soren moved to the US in the late 2000’s to pursue his literature and theology studies. He earned a B.A. from Hillsdale College and an M.Ed from Colorado Christian University before joining the English and Foreign Language Department at The Vanguard School, a classical K-12 school in Colorado Springs. Soren first heard about CLT when researching a better and more meaningful assessment for his students. This is his third year with the organization. Soren and his wife Paula live in Annapolis, MD where they enjoy kayaking, hiking, and rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles.
