2021-22 Bible Department Head and Rhetoric School Bible/Theology Instructor: The purpose of this position is two-fold: (1) perform departmental leadership and management duties, and (2) teach 10th through 12th grade Bible/Theology.
The Rhetoric School (RS) Department Head will provide leadership and administrative management responsibilities including conducting biweekly departmental meetings, faculty performance assessments and mentoring, evaluation and development of the scope and sequence of grades 6-12 curriculum, and identifying and/or leading Departmental professional development efforts.
The RS Instructor will rely on classical methods and a biblical worldview to teach Philosophy of Religion, Historical Theology, and Apologetics, with the aim of helping students become more faithful followers of Christ who are prepared to lead for Christ’s cause in the world.
Work Schedule: This is an exempt, full-time, year-round position beginning July 1, 2021, for the 2021-22 academic year. In general, the workday is 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., five days a week during the school year, with reduced and/or remote hours during the summer months.
Essential Requirements: Must be a follower and disciple of Jesus Christ; support the School’s Statement of Faith fully and unreservedly; be a mentor comfortable discipling upper high school students; a Bachelor’s degree in Bible, theology, apologetics, or a related field; five (5) years of experience teaching or working closely with upper high school students, ideally, in a classical Christian school.
Preferred Requirements: Five (5) years of experience teaching upper high school students in a classical Christian school with the majority of those teaching Bible and Historical Theology; Master’s or Doctorate in Bible, theology or apologetics; team leadership experience.
