Position: Elementary Dean of Students/Student Service Coordinator
Reports to: Head of Elementary
Duty Days: 214
Employee Status: Exempt
Hours: 7:15 AM – 4:00 PM. Monday – Friday (Some weekends and evenings will be required)

Job Summary: The Dean of Students/Student Service Coordinator implements the mission, vision and philosophy of the school to provide leadership in the development of the virtuous character of the students, and assists teachers in the formation of virtuous character in their students and themselves using the Love and Logic school-wide discipline plan and philosophy. Additionally, the Dean of Students/Student Service Coordinator oversees RTI services for K-4 elementary students and coordinates campus testing including TPRI, TXKEA, and STAAR.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate
• Masters in Classical Liberal Arts preferred

• Ability to actively mentor teachers in the Love-and-Logic approach to building relationships with students

Experience:

•  At least three to five years of classroom teaching experience

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Know and understand the mission, vision and philosophy of the school and assist the Head of School in implementing discipline accordingly
• Know and understand the Love and Logic school-wide discipline plan and philosophy,
  keeping current and fluent in the Love and Logic techniques and philosophy
• Assist Head of School in training teachers in the Love and Logic techniques and philosophy for classroom management
• Coordinate RTI Program for grades K-4
• Ensures Compliance with Handbook Policy & Region IV Guidelines
• Works with Upper School RTI Coordinator to ensure vertical alignment of RTI program &
  procedures
• Intervention Flow: works across departments to follow Region IV guidelines on flow between RTI, 504 Program, and SPED Program
• Maintains quarterly RTI records including tutoring and intervention logs
• Collaborates with teachers, Instructional Specialists, and Head of School to
  determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district and
  state requirements
• Provides a positive, virtuous role model for students and supports Aristoi’s mission
  as a classical school
• Plans, implements, and evaluates instructional programs with teachers, including
  objectives, strategies and assessments
• Works collaboratively with Instructional Specialist and teachers in monitoring student
  progress
• Works closely with Special Education and 504 Coordinators to monitor and follow up on
  At-Risk students throughout the school year
• Assists all teachers in providing interventions for struggling learners.
• Works with District Testing Coordinator as the Elementary Testing Liaison
• Assists the Head of School in working alongside the District Testing Coordinator to review all elementary testing to ensure that all requirements by state and federal authorities as well as School Board policies and requirements of the Superintendent are administered
• Assists Head of Elementary School in communicating with parents and teachers throughout the school year regarding all testing requirements under the direction of the DTC
• Implements state regulations and assessments
• Uses grades, benchmarks, and standardized testing data to identify students at risk
• Works with Instructional Specialists to provide benchmark reports to Team Leads
• Works closely with the Team Leads and Instructional Specialist to vertically align instructional strategies, curriculum implementation, and tracking of standardized testing data for grades K-4
• Helps oversees the Blending Learning Grant
• Performs other administrative duties as needed
