Logic School Teacher, Grades 5-8
Job Summary
The Ecclesial School offers a rich learning atmosphere, classical liberal arts curriculum, and formative Christian practices to children of diverse social and economic backgrounds. Logic School Teachers bring this mission and vision to life each day in their lessons and learning activities, through the relationships they build with students and their parents, and by working together with colleagues as part of a faculty committed to professional growth. Because Logic School teachers at The Ecclesial School teach classes within a given curricular area (e.g., Language Arts, Mathematics, etc.) across the 5th-8th grades, they have the distinct opportunity to collaborate with other Logic School faculty and to build mentoring relationships with students over the course of four years.

- Affirm the Christian faith as expressed in the Nicene Creed, without exception, maintaining active membership in a local parish or congregation
- Endeavor to keep unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace by maintaining high standards of professional communication and commitment to redemptive conflict resolution
- Participate eagerly in the life of the school community, attending school activities as noted on the staff calendar
- Build relationships with colleagues, students and their families
- Prepare for and participate in professional development activities
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Study to internalize curriculum rather than simply reading from the teacher’s guide
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons and learning activities
- Assess and report students' academic growth and progress toward educational goals
- Coach, train, mentor students in the essential habits of heart and mind that support growth in intellectual and moral virtue
- Maintain regular and timely communication with parents and school leaders concerning student growth and progress
- Support the school admissions process by assessing prospective students

Experience and Education
- Undergraduate degree (minimum B.A. or B.S.), with significant coursework in education or the classical liberal arts curriculum
- Experience teaching upper grammar or middle school aged children (3-5 years preferred)
- Experience in highly social and relational context
- Experience in cross-cultural communication is preferred
- Experience in a classical Christian school as either teacher or student is preferred
