Description
General Summary:
- Do you love teaching bright and capable students who are eager to learn?
- Would you find it fulfilling to collaborate with a stellar faculty, some of whom have advanced degrees and choose to teach younger students?
- Would you benefit from a community of faith and learning that exudes both academic rigor and spiritual depth?
If so, The Cambridge School has a position opening that may align with your interests. We are looking for a part-time middle school science teacher to teach two sections of seventh grade life science and possibly other courses at the elementary or middle school level. We seek someone who is committed to teaching science in the historic liberal arts tradition and desires to promote a logical understanding of scientific investigations and argumentation, for the purpose of cultivating wisdom and virtue in our students today.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Teach two sections of seventh grade life science, including lesson planning, assessments, conducting laboratory experiments, communicating with parents, and collaborating with other teachers.
Successful candidates will agree wholeheartedly with our Mission and Statement of Faith and must enjoy and work well with adolescents. A deep sense of purpose in understanding history in a Christian context, and a proven ability for bringing curiosity to life in students who are eager to learn is a must. A degree in biology and/or life sciences and at least 5 years of prior teaching experience at the middle or secondary level are preferred. If you could see yourself in an academically robust, collegial, collaborative, and mission-driven educational environment—one that teachers consider as a vocational destination rather than stepping stone—please send a letter of interest and your résumé or curriculum vitae to careers@cambridgeclassical.org.
