Upper School Science teacher

Job Title: Upper School Science Teacher
Status: Full-time or Part-time
Supervisor: Upper School Head

Job Requirements
• Full support of Providence’s statement of faith, mission and values
• Minimum bachelor’s degree
• Knowledgeable and enthusiastic
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Previous teaching experience preferred

Teaching Responsibilities
• Conduct oneself with Christ-like professional behavior
• Carefully lead students to an understanding of each subject including Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• Confidently teach science from a solid, Christian and biblical worldview
• Maintain an orderly, clean, and joyful classroom
• Create an atmosphere of “schole”
• Deliver well-prepared lessons, utilizing all class time for instruction or practice
• Praise hard work, effort, and aptitude as well as good behavior and character
• Utilize classical methodology in instruction
• Communicate regularly and clearly with parents
• Foster collegiality amongst faculty and staff
• Grow as a lifelong learner by studying in and outside your subject area, reading or listening to classical literature and classical education books, articles, and podcasts
• Daily duties as assigned

Schedule for Full-Time positions
• Tuesday – Friday, 35 Weeks, 7:25am - 3:45pm
• Tutoring offered one hour per week
• Other work days include Faculty Orientation Week, monthly Faculty Meetings, January Monday Professional Development day, Adeste Fideles, and parent-teacher Conferences
• Summer Professional Development
• Daily duties as assigned
