WHAT ARE PARTICIPANTS SAYING?
About the workshop
Participants will gain a foundational understanding of critical concepts and issues related to diversity. They will be able to explicate diversity’s relationship to the gospel, they will learn the six major components of diversity within the classical school, and will be equipped to begin implementing a successful diversity program while avoiding potential landmines.
As a six-session intensive, this workshop will meet weekly beginning the first week of February, 2022.
Meet Your Leader
Assistant Professor of Ethics and Reconciliation,
Aaron Howard currently serves as Assistant Professor of Ethics and Reconciliation at Lipscomb University and Founder and CEO of As One Christian Diversity, LLC, a consulting organization that provides diversity coaching, training, assessments, strategic planning, and faculty recruitment for Christian schools. He has served as a Director of Diversity in a Christian K-12 school, Bible Instructor, worship leader for various evangelical denominations, and church planter. He currently serves on the board of Charleston Classical School. Aaron earned his Ph.D. in Ethics and Society from Vanderbilt University, an MA in Theology, Biblical Studies, from Fuller Theological Seminary, an MA in Counseling from San Diego State University, and a BA in Anthropology from UCLA. He lives in Nashville with his wife Mimi, an English setter and a goldendoodle. Although he looks too young to be an empty-nester, his two children are both attending college. In his spare time, he enjoys playing gospel music, watching action movies, and reading ancient philosophy and civil rights history.

Events grant us the opportunity to gather. As incarnational beings, nothing is better than being together. So having the chance to gather with like-minded classical Christian educators is a rich opportunity. That’s why so many of us return to SCL events year after year.
