DEAN OF STUDENTS | FULL TIME | Canton, GA | FY 2025-2026

Cherokee Classical Academy, a member of the Liberty Classical Schools network, is seeking a full-time Dean of Students to serve as a key leader for our growing K–6 campus. Reporting directly to the Head of School  and working in close collaboration with the school leadership team, the Dean of Students will play a critical role in shaping the school’s vision, academic culture, and student experience.

The Dean of Students will lead initiatives across school culture, academics, discipline, and staff development to ensure alignment with the school’s classical mission and the highest standards of excellence.

Oversees Discipline Plan and Implementation

  • Refine, launch, and monitor a school-wide discipline plan rooted in classical virtues and consistent expectations.
  • Train teachers and staff to implement the plan with fidelity; work directly with students to address behavior and support character development.
  • Continuously evaluate effectiveness and adjust as needed.

Supports School-Wide Academics

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive school-wide assessment calendar and implementation plan.
  • Serve as the designated testing coordinator, ensuring full compliance with all state and local requirements.

Support  Parent Communication on Key Issues

  • Serve as the primary liaison to families regarding student behavior and discipline matters.
  • Facilitate clear, mission-driven communication that fosters partnership and trust.

Oversees Programs and Clubs

  • Develop, launch, and oversee extracurricular and athletic programs that align with the school’s mission and enrich student life.
  • Manage program logistics, staffing, communication, and overall quality to ensure student access and engagement.

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a fully accredited college is required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Five years of classroom experience required; experience working in a leadership role in education strongly preferred.
  • Experience and familiarity with classical education strongly preferred.

About Cherokee Classical Academy:

Cherokee Classical Academy (CCA) is a tuition-free public charter school set to launch in Cherokee County, GA. It will open for grades K-6 in the 2025-2026 school year and will continue to add a grade each year until reaching a full K-12 configuration. Families who reside in the counties of Cherokee, Cobb, Bartow, Fulton, Pickens, Paulding, and the cities of Marietta, Cartersville, and Atlanta are eligible to apply for enrollment.
