  • Inspiring stakeholders as the school's primary visionary and operational leader with a clear roadmap for Ascension's future. Building upon a legacy of academic excellence, this leader will drive initiatives to expand facilities and enrich learning opportunities, securing Ascension's prominence for future students.
  • Exhibiting strong leadership as he or she effectively manages school operations and fosters a unified community. He or she will demonstrate humility, empathy, and commitment to Ascension's values.

The ideal HOS candidate:

  • Possesses spiritual depth, maturity, and leadership. Demonstrates rich prayer life, understanding of scripture that plays out in life practically through church membership and involvement and passion for building God’s Kingdom according to his calling by the guidance of his Spirit.
  • Possesses the ability to lead a community of families representing various denominations.

  • Has a deep understanding of classical Christian education—its vision, mission, goals, history, pedagogy—and possesses the ability to communicate them clearly.
  • Exhibits humility and eagerness to continue growing and learning.
  • Exhibits strong personal discipline and organization while upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Has demonstrated his or her leadership ability with a proven track record of significant administrative or executive achievements as they relate to managing personnel, a budget, and understanding the big-picture and financial goals of an entire organization.
  • Demonstrates ability to build and maintain a team through humble leadership; responds well to and solicits constructive criticism; leads others by influence and through understanding their strengths and abilities.
  • Possesses love of and understanding of place—the city, culture, and community where God plants his servants.
  • Has an entrepreneurial spirit—willingness to take on a project and be a part of building something; realizes all the parts are not yet in place but has a vision to move in that direction.
  • Has the ability to connect well with potential donors and communicate the school's mission, vision, values and unique offer in Shreveport in such a way that inspires engagement and action.
  • Is able to communicate a cathedral-scale vision to students, faculty, staff, parents and various stakeholders that goes beyond the current project at hand.
  • Is passionate about delivering excellence in children’s education and committed to mentoring a stellar faculty and staff.
