Duties & Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Teach a full time class load, attend scheduled faculty meetings plus possible daily/weekly duties or participation in committee work as needed
- Teach from a biblical Christian worldview and ensure a foundation of Christian faith in all teaching and learning
- Prepare learning plans as required with clear objectives and outlines for courses of study following the scope and sequence of the curriculum
- Be well prepared for daily lessons with suitable materials, resources and clear learning objectives
- Supports the learning needs of all students
- Enthusiastically and diligently teach required subject material
- Establish an effective classroom environment that is positive and disciplined, attractive and hospitable
- Provide frequent and meaningful feedback to students and parents
- Carry out all supervision duties effectively
- Work well in a team
Relationships/Pastoral Duties
- Develop respectful relationships with faculty, students, and parents
- Interact professionally with teachers, leaders and the Board.
- Accept and value similarities and differences in a loving, Christian manner
- Provide pastoral care to students based on biblical Christian faith and principles in both academic and personal matters
- Set a biblical Christian example in lifestyle in and out of school
- Participate in school-organized fellowship and events
- Pray with and for students, their families and school community members
- Support student activities beyond the classroom when possible
Professional Development
- Collaborate with the Head of School and other faculty in the development, evaluation, and revision of curricula and programs
- Commit to continual improvement of understanding and practice of the Four Foundations of Classical Christian Education
- Engage in professional development opportunities and set yearly improvement goals
- Seek to upgrade educational expertise through personal or group professional reading and/or online development classes.
