Position Overview:
Lighthouse Christian Academy is seeking a passionate Latin Teacher to join our faculty for the 2025–2026 academic year. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Latin to students in grades 3 through 8, introducing and deepening their understanding of classical language, grammar, vocabulary, and translation. This teacher will play a key role in reinforcing the values of classical education and supporting our commitment to intellectual and spiritual formation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Latin to students in grades 3–8, aligning with the school’s classical Christian curriculum

  • Develop and implement lessons that promote active learning and foster a love for classical language and culture

  • Integrate biblical principles into instruction and classroom management

  • Prepare students for continued Latin study in upper grades, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, and basic translation

  • Evaluate student progress through assignments, assessments, and regular feedback

  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to support interdisciplinary learning and spiritual development

  • Maintain joyful classroom environment

  • Participate in school events, professional development, and faculty meetings

Qualifications:

  • A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of Lighthouse Christian Academy

  • Bachelor’s degree and previous study of languages

  • Teaching experience, preferably in a classical Christian school setting (preferred but not required)

  • Ability to inspire students and cultivate a genuine appreciation for language and culture

  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills

  • Willingness to engage with students, parents, and staff as part of a Christ-centered learning community

Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
