This is more than a job. It’s a calling. A once-in-a-lifetime chance to build a high school from the ground up.

NorthShore Classical Academy is launching a brand-new high school in the northern suburbs of Milwaukee, opening its doors to the inaugural “Founding Fifty Freshmen” in Fall 2026. We are now searching for the right Head of School—a passionate, articulate, and inspiring leader ready to build something extraordinary from day one.

Backed by a dedicated board, generous community support, and the proven Hillsdale College 9-12 Classical Curriculum, NCA offers the rare chance to lead an institution with a clear mission, a blank slate, and momentum already in motion.

Who You Are

You're a leader who believes that education should form both the mind and the soul. You’re someone who:

  • Lights up a room—whether it's full of students, teachers, parents, or donors.
  • Believes deeply in classical education and the power of great teaching.
  • Wants to shape a school’s culture, not just manage its calendar.
  • Can walk through an old school building and see its future as a world-class campus.
  • Thrives on building—teams, traditions, and trust.

Whether you’re a seasoned school leader, an exceptional teacher ready to step into the leadership “chair”, or a mission-driven professional with the heart and credentials to launch something lasting, this could be the opportunity that changes your career—and a community—forever.

About the School

  • Located in the fast-growing city of Saukville, WI, Ozaukee County, just north of Milwaukee.
  • Launching 9th grade in Fall 2026, with one grade added each year.
  • Powered by the high school portion of the Hillsdale College K-12 Curriculum, rooted in the Western tradition and civic virtue.
  • A comprehensive enrollment marketing program is in place and several parents have already expressed strong interest.
  • Offers a distinctive World of Work™ program that gives students a front-row seat to the real economy:
    • Exposes students early to real-world career possibilities, connecting academic learning with future pathways.
    • Prepares students for success across four structured career pathways:
      • College Prep – For students pursuing a four-year degree.
      • Military & Civic Leadership – For those drawn to service, structure, and responsibility.
      • Entrepreneurship – For builders, risk-takers, and innovators
      • Career & Technical Education (Ed Tech) – For students with practical skills and big ambitions
  • A historic school building is in the process of being acquired and will undergo major renovation over the next three years. Athletic fields and gymnasium included.

Your Role

As Head of School, you’ll be the chief ambassador, academic leader, operations manager, and culture-setter. You’ll hire and mentor faculty, meet with families, guide students, and report to the board. Most importantly, you’ll make the school’s mission come alive every single day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build a team: Recruit, mentor, and inspire excellent faculty and staff.
  • Lead instruction: Guide academic planning, classroom excellence, and student outcomes.
  • Be the face of the school: Conduct enrollment tours, speak to parent groups, lead open houses and special student events, and engage the broader community.
  • Shape culture: Build a school where students strive for virtue, rigor, and purpose.
  • Manage operations: Oversee planning, facilities, hiring, compliance, and budgeting.
  • Honor the mission: Uphold the classical tradition and our commitment to developing character, intellect, and civic responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Experience in classical education or deep familiarity with its principles is important but not required.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a school or relevant organization.
  • Superb communication skills—oral and written.
  • Strong organizational, strategic, and operational instincts.
  • A belief that education reform starts with one great school at a time.

Why Now. Why You.

This isn’t just another principal job. It’s a chance to do what few ever get to do: start a school that reflects your highest values, your deepest beliefs about learning, and your boldest hopes for the next generation.

Ready to Lead?

  • Send your resume and a compelling cover letter that includes your personal educational philosophy—especially how it connects to classical education—to:
    mobley@ncawi.org
  • It is strongly recommended that you first spend some time on Hillsdale’s web site learning about the K-12 Classical curriculum at: https://k12.hillsdale.edu/
