*Tuition Credit is the amount of your salaried income that can be designated toward your child’s tuition, if you are both an employee and a DDCA parent. These funds are tax-exempt, but applying this credit is optional. The prorated amount will be taken out of each pay period and your paycheck will reflect take-home wages after applicable taxes and withholdings are calculated. The amount of your potential tuition credit is determined based on California current minimum wage rates, which DDCA is required by law to pay you. Salary above and beyond minimum wage is able to be used toward tuition and is exempt from income tax when used for this purpose. We recommend consulting your tax advisor for further clarity around how this impacts your annual income.
