With the passage of the Texas ESA legislation, school choice has become one of the most significant and closely watched education policy changes in the state’s history. While the law is now official, many questions remain about how it will be implemented, what it means for families, and how private schools will be affected. This moment presents both opportunities and challenges for school leaders who want to prepare wisely for what’s ahead.

Texas’ ESA is a state-funded account that parents can use to pay for educational expenses and access opportunities that were formerly out of reach. While details are still emerging, this session will introduce the program and recommend next steps for schools interested in serving ESA students.

Session Two: The ESA Landscape — Expansion and Implementation

Speaker: Adam Roate

Education savings accounts are rapidly gaining adoption across the states, but each implementation looks different. Seeing how other states have rolled out policies—and how administrators adapt—can offer perspective where adoption is new. This session reviews the ESA landscape and shares practical implications for navigating Texas’ program.
